Cows etc.

The only interesting thing that happened this week was the flood on our patio. I thought it would be nice to wade in the cool water since it has been so hot but Barbara was not happy because a pipe had burst. I was very disappointed when the plumber came to fix it. So my life has been very boring. Today it cooled off in the evening and we went to Fearrington on one of my favorite walks.

Our first stop is by the pastures. What great smells!!

Here are some of the Belted Galloway cows. I always try to make friends with them. They are very big and they stare at me so I glad that there is a strong fence between us.

They are always very curious about me when we visit. I wonder if cows have blogs the way we dogs do?

I have never met this donkey before. Usually the baby donkey puts his head through the fence so we can sniff but this one is looking at me very disdainfully so we did not make friends.

After visiting the farm animals we walked around the ponds but it was very hot. I got a chance to cool off in the stream which felt great.

Then it was back home to eat dinner and hang out in the air conditioning.

Hi Niamh,

Those cows look so interesting! I hope Jenn takes me to meet them too. I'm at Bed and Bone all week with Big Sandy. Bernie is staying with Laura and Anthony. Jenn's at a family reunion which I cannot imagine is very interesting without me being there. Hope to see you soon!

Niamh!!!

Air conditioning is awesome! I like to lay on my human's bed, under the fan while the AC is on! I cover my nose and stretch out way long!

As for those cows, I bet you got to smell nothing but awesomeness! However, it looks like that donkey wanted out...but he doesn't look like he would play nice!

I hope you and your human have a great week!

Slurp!

Hi, Niamh!
Those are big cows! I've never seen one! But I've seen a donkey and he was not very friendly either!
Being inside by the a/c sure is great these hot days!

Those animals look friendly. I bet you had a fun time in that stream. Looks fun! How cool you get to switch on the air-conditioner. My hoomans don't want to becoz they said the electric bills have gone up last month.

Those big cow dogs don't look too friendly! It's pretty hot here, too, and we don't have any streams to wade in. Guess we'll just stay in the aire-conditioning!

Hey Niamh.. those smells must have been too delish for barks! I never saw a cow or a donkey up close and personal like that. You are so lucky! I'd like to chase a cow ... the donkey, I don't know...

Wow you got lots of animals to see. I bet we could herd those cows for you!!! The pond does look very refreshing too. Did your mom throw a stick for you to chase? That is a great game...

Oh that stream looks very refreshing - did you have fun?! That donkey was very handsome by the way. I hope the plumber fixed your mom's problem.

I'd take a stream over A/C any day. There's nothing like an opportunity to get all stinky and wet and cold and filthy. Man, do I love streams and rivers.

Looks like you had a great time. I'd stay away from that donkey, though. He doesn't look like such a fun-loving guy like you are.

Those cows are ginormous!!! I have a lot of cows on my island, but nothing like yours. I'd be glad to have a big strong fence between me and cows like that too.

much love,
Hero

Wow, those cows sure are pretty and you can eat 'em, too.

And you are prettier. Your fur is so silky and lovely. Enjoy the AC...it's great for power naps. We have floor registers in my 3 floor den and I like to get my muzzle right up close to feel the cool air.

Hi Niamh,

That stream looked so nice and cool. I bet it felt like heaven. You were so well behaved with the cows, I would have been barking like crazy. You are such a good dog!!
