Monday was an exciting day for Ambrose. First he and his friend Scout got to go tracking. They do little tracks with lots of articles and rewards. Then Ambrose went to the lake for the first time!
Scout has already been to the lake once so she knew just what to do.
Ambrose went into the water but kept looking back at Barbara to see if it was ok. She encouraged him with lots of praise and some treats and threw little sticks for him.
Ambrose did not know what to do with his feet! Should he splash the water with his paw or try to swim?
He is not sure if he wants to go back in to the lake or just watch Scout swimming. Next time I will go with him and show him how much fun it is to splash and swim.
Afterwards they both rolled around on the grass to dry off and played a little bitey face.
Monday night was the Junior Puppy Class graduation. The puppies got to show off their tricks and do a mini obstacle course. They tried to get a group picture but it is hard to get 9 puppies to sit still at once!
The puppies have grown so much in seven weeks (Ambrose has more than doubled in size) and learned a lot. I hope all the puppies continue on with classes so that they will grow up to be great dogs. A puppy's mind is a terrible thing to waste.

What a fun day Ambrose had with his little friend. I was scared too when I first got to play in water, but my hoomans took me to the ocean for my first time and the crashing waves kind of spooked me. The second time was much easier and lots more fun for me so I'm sure it will be the same for Ambrose. He'll probably have lots more fun if he's with his big sister.
Ambrose is braver than all of us, we hate water. We won't even walk through puddles. AND Hazel won't even go pee pee in the garden when it's raining!! So Ambrose was brave to go in the water!!
Congratulations to all the puppy class graduates!! You can see how big Ambrose is getting on those photos of the class!! xx
That lake looks so inviting! I would have loved to have jumped in there!
Congratulations on graduating, Ambrose!
Your Friend,
Tommy
Ambrose,
I'm not really a swimmer by choice but when I'm put in water over my head I can swim like a champ to get the heck out of there!
Pedro
Madison wants to come over and show off her Esther Williams moves. As long as it stays fun, one day he'll just start swimming!
Ambrose! You're turning into a massive beast! You are just about the biggest one in class. Good work on all that growing!
Ambrose be doing so well, he much better at water than me.

Aw, Ambrose is such a cutie. I looooove his face when he's looking back for encouragement. He's growing up so fast.
Congratulations on graduating puppy class, Ambrose!!

Niamh! We are the same years old! Wow!
Dexter didn't like to go swimming until he was about eight months old and then he couldn't get enough of it.

We can come over and show Ambrose about the lake. We aren't really swimmers either though but we can run through it really well and get sticks...
