K9 Kindercare and Rally

On Saturday Barbara drove us to K9 Kindercare. I always stay there when she has to go away. This was Ambrose's first time there. Barbara thinks it is important for puppies to learn that the kennel is a good place to stay by having a short, happy first visit. Then when they have to stay for a longer time, it isn't a problem for them. Little does he know that when Barbara and I go off to my freestyle competition in July, he will have to stay there by himself. HAH!

Ambrose did very well and played with lots of nice dogs. When he started farting, I pretended that I didn't know him.

Today he got to play with his friend Scout. She really likes the pool and keeps trying to encourage him to come in.

Of course they had to play a lot of bitey face. Now I always like a good game of bitey face but they are obsessed with chewing on each other.

I got to go practice Rally this evening. Here I am waiting my turn while my BFF Ayla got to practice on the course.

I'm doing a sit stay. Very boring. I much prefer the active exercises like the serpentines around the cones or doing the jumps.

We had a good practice though. Rally is good for building teamwork.

You may notice the fur on my left ear is much shorter than the fur on my right ear.

I blame it on Ambrose. He is always chewing on my ear! I look a little lopsided. I hope my fur grows back soon so I look good when we go to the freestyle trial. If it doesn't maybe I can get some hair extensions.

Hi Niamh! I can hardly tell that you're lopsided. You still look beautiful to me. Good for Ambrose. It looks like he took very well to Daycare. He's socializing so well! And he's getting so tall. Love you both!

Hi, Niamh!
I can see Ambrose having lots of fun with Scout!
Glad he was happy there!
Does Ambrose think he is hairstylist??
Don't worry! You look beautiful!
Kisses and hugs

Yeah, same thing here, I had to go on sleepovers even when momma and master were staying home just so I could learn that camp was good. Of course it helped that I also went there for daycare and spa treatments.

I think your shorty ear hair is very cutting edge.

Hi Niamh
Great idea to get Ambrose used to the kennels. Looks like he was having lots of fun. You would hardly notice your ear - you look great!
lots of woofs

BOL! How rude of Ambrose to chew off your ear furs!
You look very well behaved at Rally, we don't have that over here so I not really know what it be.

You always look so beautiful, Niamh! We would have never noticed the shorter fur on your ear if you hadn't pointed it out!

Love ya lots,

Hi Niamh,

Hah - our humans think alike! I also went for a "short stay" when I was just 4 months at my kennels, so that I would be socialised to it and so that I would know my humans were coming back for me! I really enjoyed myself and so I ever since then, I never had a problem with staying at kennels - unlike some of my friends who get so sad they won't eat and other stuff (how can you not eat??)

I have to say, I didn't notice your different ear fluffs at all! I think you look just gorgeous as usual.

Hey, I've tried Rally a few times - although we don't have proper, official trials in NZ so my human just printed signs off the internet and our training class made up a course to practise was good fun!

Hey Niamh!!
We can't see that you are lopsided. Luckily Sophie hasn't ever taken any hair off my ears while chewing, but then again I do have very short hair! xx

Hi Niamh,

Just popped over to tell you that I've just posted a video of me practising moves for my new routine - this is for our competition in July and we're starting to get down to some SERIOUS training! Come and have a look when you've got a moment and tell me what you think...I'd really like the opinion of a fellow dancer! :-)

Hehe, we thought you were going to say Barbara had an accident with the clippers! Ooh, not long now until your freestyle competition :D
We are wondering if your Paw it Forward package has arrived yet? We know we sent it surface mail (it was too much £££ to airmail it!) but it's been weeks!
Let us know when it arrives will you? We're worried about it.

Your Alpha Female is very smart about teaching Ambrose that he can have fun at daycare and be without her. A good game of bitey face always takes the edge off homesickness.

As for your ear trim...please tell Ambrose he is messing with perfection!

I'm going to my first novice obedience match this Sunday. I know all about the boredom of the sits and stays. Give me a good Figure Eight any time!

Where is your freestyle event this summer?

Ambrose is getting to be a big boy.

You're such a good boy at Rally, I wish you'd talk to Fudge about paying attention when we're on the course.

Hi Niahm! Ambrose is getting bigger and bigger! Did he really chew the fur off your ear? Hm, maybe that's what's causing the know. Seriously, you look beautiful and I wouldn't have noticed it.

See ya!

Our collages are made with Picasa, a free download from Google, they're really easy to do....and very handy for someone who takes too many our Mum!
We look forward to seeing a goofy Ambrose collage :D
