My Boyfriends are Smart!

Two of my boyfriends, Roscoe and Riley, passed the Canine Good Citizen test this morning. They had to demonstrate that they could greet a friendly stranger nicely, sit politely for petting, be groomed, walk on a loose leash, walk through a crowd of people, do a sit, down and stay, come when called, sit politely to meet another dog, tolerate distractions and be left with a stranger for 3 minutes. They both did a great job.

Riley CGC

Congratulations guys. Now they will go on to Therapy Dog class. They are both so friendly and sweet that I am sure that they will make great therapy dogs.

For those of you who are interested, Ambrose only peed 15 times yesterday. At this rate he will not get housetrained until 2012. Barbara says that all puppies do this and he won't have complete muscle control until about 16 weeks. She says I did the same thing but I do not think it is true. I was practically perfect as a puppy.

Ambrose is a fearless little guy and likes to walk through the woods with us and climb on logs and rocks.

He is also really good at destroying daffodils and crocuses.

We have had a few bitey face games, which have been fun, but it does not make up for his howling in his crate. He gets cranky in the evening and throws a temper tantrum when Barbara won't let him get on the couch with her. She puts him in time out for a few minutes (I think it should be for a few days) until he calms down. It is a lot of work being in charge of a puppy so I think I will take a nap while he is thrashing one of his little stuffies.

Hmmmm. Only 15 times, eh? He's getting there!

We have no doubt that you were a perfect puppy who never, ever peed where you weren't supposed to, Niamh.... just like me........

Congrats to your boyfriends. That's very impressive!

Looks like you has good taste! Good job to your boyfriends. Ambrose does seem a bit annoying, I is sure I did not need to go pee that much, but maybe I did. BOL!
He sure is cute though.

Congrats on you friends earning their CGC's. I have got one also, Mommy was going to make me a therapy dog but I didn't qualify due to my illness. Puppy training is hard, Mommy is a puppy trainer and I help out a dog school, puppies are cute BUT.....I am glad I don't have one at home with me all day....

Oh, Ambrose is so cute! It's amazing to think that he'll be as big as you, Niamh - or probably bigger - in only 5 or 6 months. Then he will only pee as many times a day as you do - we've almost gotten to that point with Zeke, and he's only 3 months old. Just keep having patience.

Your pal,
Joey

Hi Niamh,

Sorry I haven't visited for ages - my humans were away overseas and only just got back. Hsin-Yi's father died and Paul's father was in hospital with a nasty thing called cancer - and then while they were away, we also lost Lemon! She died very suddenly in kennels and my humans were really shocked because she was a young, healthy cat. Anyway, so it was quite a sad home-coming. Hopefully, the rest of 2009 will be happier!

Hope you've been well - looking forward to catching up on your news!

I think puppies are kind of dumb, huh? They don't respect force fields and eat everything.

You will need some ear protectors against the pitiful howling.

Your boyfriends are clever guys...were they taking tips from you Niamh or were you distracting them by flirting? BOL!

Congratulations to your friends on passing their CGC!! My dog sister, Bagel, also passed her CGC but we moved around so much with mom's studies that she did not get to do therapy.

I need to work on my manners towards other dogs before I can even consider CGC!

I'm very impressed with your taste in boyfriends! Good for them. Don't worry, Ambrose will be able to hold his bladder soon .. why don't you ask Barbara to take you out whenever he has to pee? Then you'll get so many walks - make it work to your advantage!! You and Ambrose are so beautiful. Kiss.Kiss.
