A New Brother

On Saturday, Barbara came home smelling of puppies. Now I am used to her smelling of other dogs but it doesn't bother me too much. She trains them but then comes home to me. But this smell was Gordon Setter puppy smell. She said that I soon I might have a new brother.

Here he is.

What do you think? He has a very mushy face.

Here is a picture of me when I was a puppy. You can see that I was much cuter of course.

So she has decided to bring him into our home and we are going to get him on Sunday. She is frantically "puppy proofing" the house. She had better puppy proof my toys because I certainly don't want him to touch any of them especially my fish.

Barbara insists that I will love him and that it will be fun to have a puppy in the house. We will see.

How exciting! He really is very cute, but of course you were the cutest Gordon Setter puppy of all! I'm sure the two of you will get on very well and that you'll prove to be a great big sister for him.

Well, of course YOU Niamh are a girl and therefore pretty. The little one looks more,,, manly! He will probably be somewhat annoying at first but we are sure you will love him and have a great time playing with him, and teaching him all sorts of things!

Oh my word. He is GORGEOUS. And I'm sure he will be as Good Boy as you are Good Girl. You will teach him the BEST doggy manners ever!

Mom has yet another question for your human... Tonight, my mom was cooking dinner and tried a recipe for the first time. It made a good loud sizzle sound which sent Stan racing into a dark room to hide. Then he came sprinting out, and flew into our people's laps shaking so violently mom thought he was having a seizure. He tried to stand but the shaking kept making him collapse. He was completely aware, however, which indicates it wasn't a seizure. There was no bowel movement... nothing. Stan wouldn't tolerate being even an inch away from mom. She held him so tightly she was afraid he couldn't breath - keeping his limbs in tight as they were practically convulsing. But he quickly calmed and became still. But he's been climbing into her lap ever since, which is something that's never happened before.

Stan's always been scared of the oven, but it's been getting better. Until this sizzle sound which is a first for him in our family. Nothing like this has EVER happened before in the 18 months he's been lived with us. We're just worried it WAS a seizure, but are thinking it most likely was terrible fear.

Any ideas? We're scared and confused right now.

Thanks, as always. As ever.

Niamh...a poopy??? Oh poor yous. I feels for you cos I was an only dog, then one day we wented to visit Sophie, but I was super confoosed when she gotted in the car with us and come home. Then one day mummy just came home with Hazel...she didn't even tell me (or daddy or sophie...BOL) so I be understanding your situation. Thing is though (don't be telling my sisters I said this) them coming to live with us was the bestest thing ever! We all be such good friends, we has some super cuddles, and I has someone to blame all the naughtiness on! Having a pooopy around will be fun, I promise!

Just saying THANKS again to your mom.

Early this morning mom was slicing string cheese to use as training treats and I waited and watched an inch from the oven. No problemo! So I'm doing great and seem to be completely recovered. Wooooh!
