Spa Day

I had a great time tracking yesterday morning with my BFF Ayla. We both found all our articles and I got sausage biscuit (yum!) and Ayla got steak! Then Barbara said that I was going to have a spa day. I thought that sounded like a great idea and had visions of mud baths, aromatherapy, massages and delicious spa cuisine.

Liar, liar, pants on fire! I was horrified to find myself at Max's Dog Wash and that Barbara had her bag of torture implements with her. I think that these gruesome tools look like they were invented by someone at the CIA!

Of course I had to have a bath, get trimmed and blown dry. I cannot stand the blow dryer.

Here are my before and after pictures.

Tufty

Not Tufty

Why did I have to undergo this cruelty to animals you ask? So I could get my picture taken for Mangominster 2009.

My Relentlessly Huge friend Mango has uncovered a big conspiracy in the judging of the Westminster Dog Show and has decided to run his own unbiased event in protest. All dogs are welcome, AKC or not. You can go to his blog to check out the rules and you have until Sunday at noon to send him your pictures. I am entering the Sporting Group and all I can say is that the prizes better be really good to make up for this grooming dog torture.

Oh you poor, poor Niamh! How cruel and awful! But you do look quite lovely!

I have also entered the sporting category in Mango-Minster, in my supreme scruffy, untrimmed GLORY! This is fun!

Your Friend,
Tom

Those torturous devices sure look very familiar to us, Niamh!
We didn't get all gussied up for the Mango Minster's challenge like you did so we're guessing that you'll blow us all out of the water with your beauty!

Love ya lots

What is with humans and baths? What's wrong with looking tufty? I think Tufty would be a good doggie name. I don't see my humans using wire brushes on their fur.

My mom has those very same torture devices! I hate them with a passion and the second I see my mom coming towards me with them I try to slink off to my crate. No amount of cheese bribery or belly rubs can ever make me love them. You look gorgeous after your grooming! I just got groomed this past Wednesday and now I look like a sissy puppy instead of a manly windblown beast!

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by. Yep them meatballs looked so tasty while the Mommy was making them. I sat by the table hoping she would drop some but NO. She never lets me have raw meat even though that's what does in the wild ate.

I was just getting ready to leave a comment that I had an award for you when I saw you stopped by. Did you pock up yout award?

Hi Niamh! Ayla got STEAK?! Yum! The sausage biscuit sounds good, too! Sorry you had to endure all that stylin', but you do look pretty darn good. I'm in the Sporting category, too.

See you at Mango Minster!

Niamh,

Those definitely look like implements of torture! My mom uses the furminator on Ziggy and that when I see it I run! Ziggy seems to like it though (he's odd). I keep hearing about the Westminster debacle and Mango too. I'm going to have to check out Mango cause he is one GIANT dawg! His little toe is probably bigger than me!
