Sharing the Blog

Several of Barbara's friends have asked when will Ambrose be allowed to post on my blog. The short answer is - not in my lifetime!

Does he look like he has a thought in his head worth posting?

Would you want someone who looks like this to post on your blog?

I realize that Joey is now sharing his blog with Zeke (who seems like a very thoughtful guy), Maggie lets Mitch post, Big Pupi and Stanislaw compliment each other very well on their blog and even Mango lets his pee wee brother, Dexter, post sometimes. Many of you share great blogs. But none of you have been saddled with a goofy brother like Ambrose (for which you should be very thankful). So unless he miraculously grows some brain cells, don't expect to see him post anytime soon. Barbara, will of course keep putting his pictures on the blog because she thinks he is so cute.

Ambrose did get to go to Phydeaux, my favorite pet supply store, today for an all important fitting. He was Red Boy in the litter and his breeders gave him a nice red collar and leash when he came home with us. Barbara put an id tag on it and he has been wearing it ever since.

Every week Barbara checks the fit and adjusts and loosens the collar because Ambrose is growing so fast. It is important that collars fit just right. Not so loose that we can back out of them and not so tight that they choke us. When Barbara worked at an animal shelter she saw many dogs whose evil people left chain collars on their puppies and never changed them. The puppies grew up and the collars got embedded in their necks! That of course is real cruelty.

Ambrose is now 31 lbs! Notice that Barbara can barely get two fingers between the collar and his neck. There is no more room to loosen it so it is time for a new collar.

Here is the one they picked out and Barbara added his silver rabies tag.

I always wear a well fitting collar and my jewelry (id and rabies tag). I have several collars but I am wearing this plaid one here. It is important that we wear our jewelry so that if we ever go Astray someone can help us get back to our people. I am also microchipped as is Ambrose. I hope you are too.

I think his new collar looks pretty nice and I hope he doesn't grow out of it too soon.

Niamh, do not let that little shark pup have bloggy time until he is one year old and then only give him one day. Otherwise, he will take over and I will not get to see you as often.

Mango

Hi, Niamh!
You can let him make a post from time to time! A good laugh does not hurt!
He is growing and growing!
I have my collar with my ID tag. Microships here don't work!
Kisses and hugs

Niamh,

The aliens put a chip in me when I was abducted too. I wonder if you went to the same space ship I did? As far as Ambrose goes, tell him to get his own blog. That's what I told Ziggy and he did get his own blog. I let mom put his pictures on my blog but I do ALL the barking!

Hi Niamh! I understand how you feel. I felt the same way at first, but after a while Zekie convinced me that he did have something to say. If Ambrose ever wants to post, it's up to you whether to let him or not - of course, it's your bloggie. It's nice to see pictures of him, though. He just couldn't be cuter.

See ya!
Joey

Hi Niamh. That's a judicious selection of goofy Ambrose pictures!

We're glad he got a well-fitting new collar. We're all micro-chipped here too. And I wear a rolled leather collar made to measure by Emma Baker-Jones, an English craftswoman. We do not have rabies tags in France but I wear quite a bit of jewellery: one piece that gives my name, #1's name and phone number, one that gives our English cellphone number for when we are in England, and one that says I have a microchip!

Tommy

Hi Niamh!! You are so very right about collars. We alls wear a good firring collar and our tags, we is microchipped toos. We has nice strong leather collars too, cos once Sophie's colalr snapped and she gotted loose. We was very lucky to be on our grandpawrents farm fields so she was safe, but it could have been very scary if she was on a busy road. We thinks mummy has collar paranoia now!!
When Amrbose gets a little bit bigger and cleverer then maybes you can let him do the odd guest bloggie? That's what I doos, let my sisters do the odd bloggie.

Please come by our blog cos we has given you an award!! :) xxx

Ooops, we mean we wear a good "fitting" collar - not firring!! BOL ;)

Niamh - we share a blog because we were both here when we set it up, but since it was your blog first, we don't think you should have to share unless you want to. We always wear our collars and jewelry too.

Hi Niamh,
I sometimes talk on my blog about what other members of my family are doing, but I write the blog myself - they don't get to write their own stuff. Us shepherds must be in control at all times.

Your jewelry must jingle alot. Ruby and I wear Quiet Spot tag bags. They keep down the tag noise (and make it easier to sneak up on things). They also keep tag tarnish off our white tuxedo trim. Your coat is black so that isn't a problem for you.

We met Gretchen to track today. I'll be blogging about it tonight.

Your BFF,
Ayla

I don't think I'd want to share my blog if I ever got a sibling either. Maybe Ambrose can have his own blog later?

I just added a new piece of jewelry to my collar. I had to get my rabies booster today and traded in my old red rabies tag for a new blue one that's in the same shape as the one Ambrose is wearing. On my island rabies shots aren't required, but since my family is military and we could leave at a moments notice I have to make sure that I'm up to date with everything. I think Ambrose looks very handsome in his new collar. I can't believe he's 31 pounds already! Pretty soon he'll be as heavy as me and I'm already over 2 years old!

My mom was wondering if Barbara could email her at angradoheroismo{at)yahoo(dot)com whenever she has the time. Thanks for passing the message!

Hi Niamh

We share our blog (even with the cat) because we started it together, but we think you shouldn't have to share if you don't want too. But we do enjoy Ambrose's goofy little face.

Ambrose's new collar is lovely.

That is so sad about those poor pups with tight collars.

We love seeing pic's of Ambrose on your blog Niamh and updates about him. We will always think of it as your blog though, where you let him have the odd post but we know that you are the special girl on here...hehe

You can let him blog whenever you want, Niamh, but I'm a firm believer in seniority. You will always have been first-born-doggie and with that come certain privileges.

We think he needs to grow up some more before posting, we mean, look at Pappy, he's over a year old now (barely) & he still posts silly stuff all the time. Very smart about the collars & the microchips, all of us have both & we're never allowed to go in the Bullie Blazer without them!
