This is my neighbor, Bronx. She is a pit bull mix and is a good friend. Pit bulls have a bad reputation but it is mostly undeserved. Obviously bad people breed them to be dog aggressive and evil people like Michael Vick train them to fight. But Bronx's people adopted her from the local shelter and we get along very well.
We both enjoy chase games. Our favorite is to freeze and then explode into a pouncing, chasing frenzy. Bronx has a lot of energy.
Barbara supervises our play sessions very carefully and if you notice, you will see that I am on a long line while we play. This is because Bronx is allowed to run free whenever she likes. Sometimes she comes to our front door and calls for me. She has followed us in the dog crate on wheels. Barbara is very concerned because she has seen Bronx on the road!
This is a scary thing and Barbara is afraid that Bronx will be a Bad Influence and Lead me Astray. I don't know where Astray is but it must not be a good place for dogs.
So our play times are restricted to the front yard with me on a long line. But we manage to have a lot of fun anyway.
All my nice snow is melting and will probably disappear tomorrow when the temperature hits 57 degrees. This is too bad because I have been enjoying it so much. The smells are great and I love the cold.
Barbara thought it would be nice to take some portraits of me against the snow. I did not.
Posing for pictures is a complete snore and I am getting a bit tired of that camera in my face.
Here is what I think of all this picture taking..
HA! HA! HA!

Oh, we've been to Astray. At first it's fun and then it can get a bit scary. Your mom is smart to keep an eye on you. Bronx looks like a blast. Kind of a party animal!

Hi Niamh! Oh, your buddy looks like alot fun but sounds like her Mom needs to keep better tabs on her....imagine she got run over by a dog crate on wheels?! Alfie has been to Astray lots of times (he used to be a bad boy) but he doesn't really go there anymore. All the pictures are lovely but we like the last one best.....priceless, you are so funny!
Slobbers xx
Hi Niamh!
I'm sorry that your snow is melting! And I'm sorry that mine is not melting! BOL! It looks like you have a good time playing with Bronx. I have met a couple pit pull doggies and they have all been pretty nice!
:) Tibby
Niamh,
I manage to go Astray now and then, but Sandi is too wise to my escape tricks.
The snow was glorious. All the great smells, and the cold - what a joy! We are such lucky dogs!
Your BFF, Ayla
Looks like you're having fun with Bronx !
We agree that it was a great idea to take portraits of you in the snow because you look stunning, Niamh!
It looks like great playtime with Bronx but we can understand that Barbara is concerned about "astray." That is not a good place at all!
Your Pals,
Tom and Tama-Chan
Hey Niamh! Thanks for stopping at our blog, we loves making new doggy friends!!
We have been to Astray many times, our mummy says we naughty when we do it but we loves Astray, you should try going there, it's fun! ;)
Scott and Sophie the Pointers! :)
We've been to Astray a couple of times. Home is a much better place to be - there is food, water, comfy couches, and our girl.
Hopefully Bronx won't get hurt in his roamings.
Hi, Niamh!
I dont know what Astray is or means, but you rather stick to your mummy:-) I'm following her everywhere she goes, even when I'm not on the leash and that is very often ;-)
Kisses and hugs,
nessa
Oh dear! We hope Bronx is one of the lucky ones and avoids any danger. I think a lot of us know what it's like to be a stray and it's a very hungry lifestyle. Not at all my thing, as I am a fan of feasting.
You look like a lot of fun. I think we'd play for HOURS and be great friends - similar playing styles. I think you should visit my bark park and we can run our bums off!
Hi, Niamh!
Sure you had fun with Bronx.
I hope she stays safe all the time.
I don't think being a stray is fun!
Kisses and hugs

You are so lucky to have a fun neighbor to play with :)

Looks like you have a good playmate there. I hopes he doesn't lead you off to astray, how will you do your blog then? I's sorry your snow is melting.

You and Bronx have so much fun together. We are so sorry all your snow is melting. Maybe it will snow again real soon..

Bronx looks a lot of fun but we wouldn't like seeing her running about near roads either. We hope she stays safe.
She does look like a great play buddy! :-))
Holly & Zac...XX
Bronx looks like a fun playmate! We hope she stays off the road from now on so nothing bad happens to her!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Niamh,
You shouldn't be so quick to dismiss those snow photos. You look stunning!
It is good that you don't run loose like your pal. Sometimes another doggie can get you so interested that you find yourself far from home. I hope Bronx doesn't get into trouble too much out there without a peoples.
Slobbers,
Mango
Niamh,
Ziggy and I get to run free in our backyard because it is completely fenced in. We only go in the front yard with out humans. They've "trained" us to stay with them in the front yard. I hope Bronx doesn't get too close to the rolling dawg crates! I understand why your mom gets scared!
Pedro
What is it with humans and having to akways take our pictures! Can't a dog just have some peace?
I understand why you have to be a long line...the human has told me before that if I went "astray" there would be no more treats for me! Say no more, right!
S-N-O-W? What is that? Do you get to eat it???
Slurp!
