Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year dog bloggers! I hope you all had a good start to 2009. I started my new year going tracking with my BFF Ayla at the university campus (my goal this year is to get my Tracking Dog (TD) title). It was great fun with lots of interesting and distracting smell. Unfortunately there are no pictures. Barbara got this cool little video camera for Christmas but is technologically challenged and we get sound but no pictures when she uploads them!!! I hope she fixes that soon so you can see me in action.

Anyway, today was lovely and sunny so we went to the new dog park. I surveyed all the running room. There weren't too many dogs but I did get in some chase games (again no useful video)

Then I had to cool off by trying out the special dog water fountains.

This little guy Toby wanted to be my boyfriend.

But he tried to hump me so I had to let him know that he should mind his manners! You can see that he got the message.

Then it was back home to thrash some toys, have dinner and relax. Tomorrow I get to meet up with my freestyle friends for some practice.

Hi Niamh,

Boy howdy did we have fun tracking on New Years Day! I love tracking. I've posted some photos that Barbara took on my blog - if it weren't for Barbara we wouldn't have any photos on our blog!

Happy New Year to you, with wishes for lots of really good toys and treats and fun training.

Your BFF,
Ayla

I recognize that look on the little guy's face after you told him "no humping." Come on, Niamh, how could he help himself?

Did you see my bloggy from 12/31? I got a road kill just like yours! Momma special ordered it after she saw yours but has been hiding it in the dog drawer until just recently.

It sounds like you have a very busy and fun new year ahead of you. We love your dog park. Most of the ones around hear don't have many trees.

Happy new year to you too! Glad you put that guy in his place. I has never wanted to hump anyone yet. Mum says to wait till I grow up.

Good luck with your tracking.

Happy New Year, Niamh! I hope your mom figures out that new camera of hers soon as I'd love to see videos of you. We all know that you're a hit with the boys, but I'm glad to see that you know how to stick up for yourself and show them what a lady like yourself deserves.

What beautiful curls you have. I'm jealous... Actually, though, curls would look silly on a Corgi. Mom loves my pointy ears and expressive eyes, and you have beautiful eyes too.

I'll have to check out your blog further when I have more time... I'm SOOO far behind from the Holidays, but I want to learn more about what you are learning to do as we (the canine types) in our family are striving toward helper dog status, and studying hard to learn all sorts of new things.

My blog is: http://countrycorgis.blogspot.com/

and my Mom's Today.com blog is at:

You are welcome to come visit sometimes.

Wow! You really know how to get the message across! I can see it in his face that he's realized you're a lady who knows what she wants (and doesn't want). Way to get your point across.

Hope you're rested up after your days at camp. I'm 80% back to normal but I still haven't found my voice!

Hi Niamh's mom! I have a question for you on behalf of my mom...

What does it mean when Big Pupi and I do a calm bow/stretch combo at our people's feet? We greet them with it, try to get their attention with it, use it when they have food... It's not quite my usual paw-slapping, bouncy, barky play bow. Big Pupi likes to use it as a means to get into the belly rubbin' position.

Is it just a submissive/playful hello?

Thanks!

Hello Lovely Niamh!

You've got a real fun agenda! I'm going to work on my scenter, cause I like the idea of running in the woods and tracking after after stuff.

I'm an awful humper, but take it from me. One of those stern looks and maybe some teeth will put me in my place. Good job, Niamh!
